The DW Collector's Series American Flag Logo Snare drum features a 14x6.5" laser-engraved exotic maple shell with an 11-ply HVLT grain orientation. These snares are extremely rare and very few will ever be produced by DW. The snare is complete with nickel hardware. One of DW's newest grain orientation technologies, HVLT (Horizontal/Vertical Low Timber) is similar to their popular VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) shell configuration in that most of the plies within the shell are vertical. This creates less tension on the shell to provide an overall lower note. The difference with HVLT is that the outer ply is horizontal. With more tension on the shell, it offers slightly more low-midrange frequencies, making it a dynamic snare capable of a diverse tuning range.
